The Twilight Zone might have terrified many different viewers, but for others, the anthology series taught major life lessons. If you take a moment to look at the many different offerings that came through the television set, you’ll realize that there is a great deal to be learned from the psychological display of human and not so human interactions that came to homes across the nation. If you haven’t reflected on the show and the many different episodes that had such great meaning, consider the following quick life lessons that you can take from the amazing show.
Honesty is Important – Whether you look at the early episodes or you watch some of the best reviewed offerings towards the end of the first run of shows, you’ll notice that many of the characters came into serious problems because they simply couldn’t tell the truth. Either they blatantly lied, or they tried to cover things up only to have their lies discovered and consequences brought into a nightmare scenario.
Never Ask For Excitement – When you’re in a new town, small or large, never ask if anything exciting ever happens. Your answer will be met with dire consequences, and you’ll panic into a nightmare. Make excitement; don’t ask for it to hit you in the face, because it will, and with brute force. Instead of being bored, asking random questions, go have fun, run around, live life!
Never Panic – Hysteria is the common reaction to life’s lessons. In the Rod Serling classic show, people faced odds that were beyond them and the majority of them ran in pure panic or made rash decisions. Instead of panicking, hold your ground, rationally think and wait for the onslaught of humanity to come find you. You’ll be far better at coping if you avoid haste. Never panic, that’s a great lesson to learn.
Be Flexible – You’ll find that life, much like another dimension is one that will require you to be amazingly flexible. Make sure that when you are hit with a curveball you look for answers beyond the immediate solutions. By doing so, you will be able to stay sane while others become frenzied.
Life lessons that are derived from The Twilight Zone are not meant to live your life by, they are just humorous observations to look into the next time you find yourself in a place that is not only of sight and sound, but also of mind.
